Sweet Spots to visit in Harford County

Start your sweet adventure by taking the Bel Air Exit 77B from I -95.

  1. Proceed on Route 24 towards the Town of Bel Air. At the corner of Main Street and Route 22, you are only a few steps away from Wockenfuss Chocolates – try a chocolate covered pretzel and browse the gift items.  
  2. Browse the specialty and antique shops on Main Street in Bel Air.  On Bond Street, stop at Moore’s Candies, named “Best Chocolate Makers” by the Food Network, for honey-caramel popcorn. A couple doors away stop in Bel Air Bakery and pick up a coconut layer cake to take home.
  3. Travel on Route 1 for 6.3 miles. to Wilson’s Farm Market to purchase one of their 17 varieties of baked pies.
  4. Turn right out of Wilson’s parking lot on Rte 1 – turn left on Route 543 – Cross over Route 22 - stop at Broom’s Bloom Dairy for homemade ice cream. We recommend the maraschino cherry chocolate chip or rice pudding flavors!
  5. Travel down Rte. 543 to I-95-go North to Havre de Grace (Exit 89)-Go to Tydings Park at the City Yacht-Basin. Walk off a few calories on the water-front promenade and get a rootbeer float at the Promenade Grille.
  6. Stop at Havre de Grace’s famous Bomboy’s Home Made Chocolate to sample a chocolate pecan crab followed by a cup of Havre de Nuts ice cream across the street at Bomboy’s Home Made Ice Cream parlor.
  7. Stop at Java by the Bay for a Milky Way (espresso, whipped cream, chocolate caramel and foamy milk).
  8. Head out to U.S. 40 and stop at Patisserie Lucie for a raspberry white chocolate scone.
  9. Go south on U.S. 40 and take Aberdeen Exit at Route 22. Stop at Mamie’s Café with Love in Beards Hill Plaza for a bite to eat. Dessert is always free at Mamie’s.
  10. Get back on Route 22 and stop at Ripken’s Stadium for cotton candy
  11. Stop at Harman’s Farm Market for some home grown tomatoes to take home.
  12. Continue to Lohr’s Orchard for some fresh peaches
  13. Take a break to play mini-golf at Churchville Golf. Enjoy a refreshing Pepsi float or a soft-serve ice cream cone at the Arctic Circle.
  14. Stop at Brad’s Produce in Churchville for some sweet corn to take home for later
  15. Head back down Rte. 22 – turn left on Rte. 24. Stop at Festival Wine and Spirits to pick up a bottle of Fiore’s Malvasia Bianca Dolce.
  16. Time to head home – one last stop on Route 24 at Charlie’s Grilled Subs for a refreshing ice cold homemade lemonade or a Wholly Cow Ice Cream Cone
  17. Head back to I-95.
